March Madness May Soon Turn To April Gladness

I do a bracket pretty much every year, and this year was no exception. The only difference this time around is that I actually still have multiple ducks in the hunt. While watching them play in the Big East Tournament, I had a strong feeling that Georgetown was primed to make a run, even though they had not been to the Final Four since 1985. For once, my usually flawed instincts appear to have paid off, because the Hoyas are still alive, along with UCLA and Florida, who I also picked (no big stretch, though). I have thought Ohio State was overrated all year, so I didn't expect them to make the Final Four, which they did when they beat my pick from their region, Memphis.

I'm in the midst of a competition with a group of guys, in which the bracket winner gets the new CD of his choice from each of the other participants. We do these kind of "leagues" often, and I never come close to winning, so I have to admit I'm pretty excited about it. The only way I can win is if Georgetown takes the title game, and that's not going to be easy, given their extremely tough competition among the other three remaining teams. Even so, it's all I can do not to start making a list of what CDs I want upon claiming victory.

Don't fail me now, Hibbert, Green and Ewing, Jr.!!!
